thnak you
thank you VERY VERY much for your hint. I have been already spending with this bug 2 days long. I've upgraded bios to F07 (from Jan/2009), I tried everything (except your hint) and I was unable to boot Ubuntu live CD (8.04, 8.10, 9.04aplpha4). only alternate CD (8.10) with acpi=off worked to install (text mode) and then to put acpi=off into grub, but after update to 2.6.27-11 keyboard + touchpad stopped to work, I had to use external one. THE LAPTOP IS SUSE ENTERPRISE DESKTOP 10 CERTIFIED. so I tried OpenSuse 11.1 and the installation works out of the box and the system too ... interresting. I tried latest Slax from USB too, with the same bad result as ubuntu (hang on CPU thermal detection - without battery inside / or on battery status with battery inside). But after applying your hint it runs out of the box. Thank you very much again ! afk_cz.
